Description of Elective Experience:
Colony Park is an AAHA-accredited full service general practice offering medical, dental, and surgical services. Our externs are given opportunities to assist with dentistry and surgery, and will be given the opportunity to work up cases as our patient load allows.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Fully-equipped surgical suite, including suction and electrocautery, digital radiographs, high-speed dental with digital dental radiography, in-house laboratory including microscope, well-trained/experienced paraprofessional staff, emphasis on low-stress handling; three experienced FT and 1 experienced PT DVM
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Hours 8a-6p M-F with 1 hour lunch. Hours can be flexed if students need additional time off during the week.
