Description of Elective Experience:
Clinical experience with veterinarians for general practice. Observation and assistance in surgery. Working emergency shifts and performing treatments of ICU patients. Assist in radiology and dentistry procedures.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Staff of 12 veterinarians with one board certified. Digital radiology, U/S, endoscope, and various lab equipment - capable to run full blood work up, U/A, and various pathologist tests using IDEXX laboratories.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Arrive promptly and be present for patient rounds. Complete all scheduled shifts and assist when prompted.
