DVM students can expect to be involved with all of the above under close supervision and mentorship. Students will be directly involved with client education, performing exams on wellness and ill/urgent care patients, making recommendations for diagnostics, creating treatment plans, administer vaccines/other injectables and discussing possible diagnosis and/or prognosis with clients. Students will draw blood, place catheters, anesthetize and/or intubate patients, assist in surgery, perform dental cleanings and extractions, and be involved with any emergencies that occur within the course of business hours.
Our doctors enjoy mentoring the next great generation of veterinarians and preparing them for the unique needs of general practice and life as a veterinarian. Our RVTs who are willing to mentor skills such as cystotomy, IV catheter placement, endotracheal tube placement, anal gland expression, bandaging, and blood draws.
