We are a small animal practice located in central Delaware. Veterinary externs will be given the opportunity to examine, make recommendations for diagnostic work up, treat and refer patients. Veterinary externs will also have the opportunity to discuss wellness with clients and make plans for good preventative medicine.
We are 3 doctor practice open 7:30 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and Saturday's 8-12. We have 2 licensed veterinary technicians, 18 veterinary assistants and 5 customer care representatives. We have a surgical suite, dental treatment area, treatment area, 4 exam rooms, dental radiographs, digital radiology, stat radiology consultations, stat cardiology consultation, ultrasound with support via telehealth, ECG with immediate cardiology interpretation. We also have laser therapy and acupuncture available for our patients!
Student will be responsible for charting medical records and communicating medication needs with clients.
Students will participate in daily case discussions.
Students will be allowed to assist in surgeries.
Students will develop diagnostic plans.
Student will be expected to perform physical exams.
Student housing is available. There is a private room provided in the practice owner's home, including a private bathroom, and communal access to the kitchen and living areas. There is garage, driveway and street parking available. There is a fenced in back yard. Although pet's are not able to stay at the practice owner's home, we do have available boarding areas for you to bring your pets. There is no cost for housing. Food is not included.
