Ethos Veterinary Health (online), MA

Description of Elective Experience:

Ethos Veterinary Health (EVH) is a network of 25 emergency and specialty hospitals located across the US. Within EVH is Ethos Science Consultancy, a vertical service that functions as a contract research organization. In addition to Science Consultancy there is also Ethos Discovery, a 501(c)(3) non-profit scientific incubator through which we do our own de novo studies. The studies through Discovery are designed to result in novel diagnostics and therapeutics with planned commercialization within the veterinary market while also providing translational value to research in human medicine. Through this externship, we will be providing experience in both of these organizations. The extern will be expected to familiarize themselves with our ongoing and planned trials, the process behind the selection and design of the trials, and the commercialization efforts that are pursued.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:

The same individuals work with both Ethos Science Consultancy and Ethos Discovery. The individuals that will be overseeing the extern will be Chand Khanna (Oncologist, EVH Chief Science Officer, Ethos Discovery President) and Sam Stewart (Criticalist, Commercialization Scientist). The externship will be conducted remotely, so the only equipment needed will be a computer with basic Microsoft Office programs (i.e.Word, Excel). All other educational materials will be provided in electronic format by Chand Khanna or Sam Stewart.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

The extern will be expected to be actively participating five days per week (i.e. Mon-Fri), for 6-8 hours each day. All interactinos will occur remotely. The extern will be assigned projects that they will have set deadlines to complete.
