Description of Elective Experience:
Swine and Beef mostly consulting and a swine farm management company .We service farms of all sizes but mostly modern big sow farms and their downstream pig flows . We do some in house diagnostics and have a Metafarms record keeping bureau.
There are 10 veterinarians on staff.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
FVC works closely with the University of Minnesota and Iowa State University on various projects.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Student will ride along with one of our 10 veterinarians 8-5 Monday thru Friday. When not out in the country the student will be exposed to numerous internal tasks such as diagnostics, CVI's, culturing and interpretation and many many other things.
Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):
We supply the housing for students at a local hotel.
