Description of Elective Experience:
Feline only specialty practice in Houston, Texas with ABVP (feline) board certified veterinarian.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Digital X-ray, Advanced ultrasound and echocardiograms, Tonopen, blood pressure, SPO2, EKG, CO2, endoscopy (upper and lower), rhinoscopy, cystoscopy, video otoscopy, soft tissue surgery, dental Xrays, oral surgery
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
5 weekdays of shadowing typically 8-12 pm and 2-6 pm. We are closed on weekends. Students will shadow one of the senior veterinarians for surgery and appointments. Students will be presented with real life case studies to work through in a problem based format. Students will be expected to calculate and present anesthetic protocols for surgery.
