Description of Elective Experience:
The student will expand their knowledge in poultry production systems, in both broiler and turkeys. The student will aid in sample collection for disease monitoring, pre-processing, and general flock health evaluaitons. The student will be familarized with hatchery and plant processing and performance evaluations.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Company Veterinarian, field technician supervisors, biosecurity attire, PPE, posting kits
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Monday-Friday (hours will vary, but typically 7am-4pm)
Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):
Transportation to the farms and facilities will be provided from a central location. Meals during the day will be covered.
