Description of Elective Experience: 

Students will be actively working with/observing doctors in various areas such as examinations and surgical procedures.  We encourage students to perform various tasks, blood draws, IV Catheter placement, and diagnostic testing.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

We are a large volume, fast paced, 8 doctor practice that primarily is a walk-in facility with limited appointments offered.  We have a diverse clientele and are known to work within the means of the low income client, while providing quality care for their pet. We are known for handling more than just routine cases and deal with a large amount of emergencies and complicated cases. 

Our facility is equipped with the latest diagnostic lab machines, digital xray, nebulization etc.  We also offer our clients mobile ultrasound.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

We are open to the public Monday-Thursday 10am-6:30pm, Friday 10am-3:30pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm

Students will work under close supervision with the doctors in shadowing and hands-on experience.  Student is expected to work 32-40 hours per week.
