Description of Elective Experience: 

We are a three doctor mixed animal practice with a wide variety of clientele.  We have an inhouse hospital that provides digital x-ray and digital ultrasound diagnostics along with gas anesthesia surgeries.  We also have a haul-in facility for Food animal and equine services and make farm calls for dairy and beef herd health visits.  We also provide emergency care 24-7 for both large and small animals.  We have an apartment on the third floor of the facility that will adequately accommodate the student during his/her elective experience.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

We are a three doctor practice with one registered veterinary technician and four veterinary assistants.  As mentioned earlier, we provide digital ultrasound and digital x-rays for both small and large animal patients.  We have inhouse boarding facilities for both large and small animals.  All large animal pregnancy diagnosis is done with portable Ei Medical ultrasounds.  

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Our facility is a 24-7 on call facility.  The student will have the option of just working during regular office hours or working after hours as well.  Most students prefer to work as a shadow with the veterinarians and may participate in procedures as they feel comfortable.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info): 

In house apartment is provided free of charge to the student.  All amenities and a pet friendly environment are provided.
