Description of Elective Experience:
Externship with our 24 hr small animal Emergency/Referral/Specialty hospital
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Multiple boarded specialists, high ratio of LVTs, ultrasound, CT, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, in-house lab
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Monday through Friday, 6pm - 12am
10 hour weekend shift of the student's choice
Students are encouraged to engage with clients by taking histories, writing medical records, case discussion, as well as technical skills such as IV catheter placement and venipuncture
