Humble Creatures Veterinary Clinic, OH

Description of Elective Experience:

We are a unique opportunity!  We are a full service general practice, BUT we also do HQHVSN.  We also do about 50% shelter/rescues/TNR. There is plenty of surgery experience to be had!  However, there is also general medicine and even some shelter medicine. We are currently a very busy two doctor practice with a large support team.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:

Multiple RVTs, many assistants, two veterinarians

Brand new digital rads, in house Idexx lab

Access to multiple shelters

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

Student would absolutely participate and be ultilized.  I would work one on one with students on any surgery that they want to learn (no ortho), but my goal would be to have them COMFORTABLE doing the basic surgeries by the time they leave. We are open M-F, 7-5:30, so however many hours the student wants or needs, they can have.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):

Housing would be staying with the Practice Manager on her family's farm. Or other options will be made available.  Pets would not be allowed at the house, but they would be welcome to stay at the clinic.  Must get approval, first, though.
