Hurricane Animal Hospital will provide students with the ability to utilize and expand their skills through diagnostics, treatments, client communications and surgery exposure in the day-to-day workings of a general practice. We typically provide opportunities for students to take the lead in routine surgery cases from our local shelters, these range from electice ovariohysterectomy to would management or fracture stabilization. We see a variety of medical cases as well as preventative wellness care.
It is important to our team that we provide you with a fun learning enviroment and supportive mentorship along with challenging you to step out and make your own decisions so you can become a proficient general practitioner.

A licensed veterinarian will provide supervision during all scheduled hours of the externship.
