Description of Elective Experience:
The internship will consist of daily herd health management, preventive medicine (husbandry practices and vaccination), diagnosis, treatment and gathering a clinical history to solve problems for swine producers. There will also be exposure to Pork Quality Assurance, Judicious Antibiotic Use and Welfare Audits.

All resources needed to complete the internship will be provided.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
The student will work a normal 50+ hour work week while shadowing different veterinarians. They will be provided with different production system experience by size and production type (NAE, Sows, Wean to Finish, Nursery etc..)

Housing will be provided by the practitioners working with the student.
