IEVC is a very busy avian-exotic full service animal hospital. Extern will gain exposure to many different species and common medical, surgical, and emergency procedures. Extern will shadow one of two staff veterinarians during the 2 week program.
there are 2 staff doctors that run the clinic, plus 2 licensed veterinary technicians and several assistants. This is a full service animal hospital with diagnostic imaging, in-house lab, surgery suite, and 24 hour care. Extensive library with assigned reading.
Student will participate in morning and evening rounds, and learn the handling and restraint of all common pet exotics. Mostly a shadowing experience with some hands-on support following initial orientation. Student will have 40+ hours per week for 2 week rotation.
