Description of Elective Experience: 

The student will have the opportunity to work directly with each of our three doctors throughout the rotation. While in the small animal pracitce they will work with the attending doctor seeing in-house appointments for routine check-ups and emergent issues as well as in surgery performing both routine and complicated procedures. They will have the opportunity to work with our large animal ambulatory vets while on calls for cattles, horses, and small ruminants performing a variety of routine and emergency work on the farm.

Lakeview Animal Clinic is a progressive and advanced mixed animal general practice. We have a complete in-house labratory, in-house and portable digital radiographs, in-house and portable ultrasound, dental radiographs, advanced surgical monitoring equipment, and advanced hospitalization capabilities. All doctors within the practice enjoy and are dedicated mentoring and educating future practitioners. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

The students will be expected to be directly within the office or on farm calls with a doctor for at least 40hrs a week. They are also expected to be available to come in to the office or go on farm calls for after hours emergencies. Each day the student with be assigned to directly work with one of the doctors.
