Description of Elective Experience:
Students will be immersed in the daily activities of a busy, small animal, general practice in Maine. Appointments include general wellness exams, sick/problem visits and emergency visits. Surgeries are scheduled 3 days a week and include primarily spays, neuters, growth removals and dentals.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We are a 3 doctor, small animal general practice. We have a full in-house lab, digital radiographs, ultrasound, surgery and dental capabilities.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Students will shadow doctors during appointments and/or surgery Monday through Friday 8-5.
