We are a corporate-owned, general small animal day practice. We see a wide variety of wellness visits as well as sick patients. We expect our extern will shadow our veterinarians, be actively involved in case discussion, and can assist our assistants and technicians. We hope to help our extern see what a regular general practice setting is like.
Our practice has 3 full-time veterinarians, 4 licensed techicians, 2 veterinary assistants, and 3 front desk staff. We have digital radiology (including dental radiology), and a high-speed dental drill. Our practice culture encourages collaboration and case discussion, which the extern will be actively involved in.
The student will be expected to be present for 40 hours (the student could be present for more hours if they choose) Monday-Saturday (the exact schedule can be flexible within our open hours). Student will shadow the veterinarians and be involved in case discussion. The student can also assist with technician duties and other procedures at the discretion of the student and the attending veterinaraian.
