This is a hands-on ER rotation. Student is expected to host client communications, develop treatment plans, write charts and discharges, and perform procedures under direct veterinary supervision.
Fully staffed ER doctor team and tech team, point of care diagnostics, full lab equipment, full radiology equipment, ICU with advanced support (Hi-flow oxygen, Snyder, incubator, telemetry, etc). Specialities including surgery, internal medicine, radiology, medical oncology, cardiology, ophthamology, in addition to a hospitalist department.
40 hours/week. May include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift including weekends. Students will initially be shadowing and as they go through the externship, they will start to manage cases primarily with direct supervision.
