Description of Elective Experience:
Assist in management of a variety of small animal medical and surgical problems
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Fully staffed hospital. Nine specialists in 6 different areas of expertise.
Ultrasound, endoscopy, dental and digital radiography, CT scanner, telemetry, in house lab equipment, several types of patient monitoring equipment, MRI access at a local hospital.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM.
If an emergency medicine experience is desired this would be voluntary during after hours and on weekends.
