Description of Elective Experience:
MVH is a large, high volume, SA and exotics general practice that sees a wide variety of cases. In addition to general practice, we also offer emergent overnight care and hospitalization. Students will have the experience to tailor the externship to their interests, choosing to shadow veterinarians in examination rooms, perform physical examinations, develop treatment plans, assist in a variety of procedures and surgeries, or even shadow our emergency veterinarian overnight.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
40 hour work week, divided up however best works for student schedules. We can host students during normal office hours 8am-8pm M-F, 8am-12pm Sa, or 8pm-8am overnight.
