Description of Elective Experience: 

We are an eight DVM practice and see a wide range of surgery, dental, medical and routine wellness cases. Our students get daily surgery and dental exposure, and are allowed to get hands on experience. Our students get hands on experience with medical cases, emergencies that walk in, routine wellness exams and drop offs. The normal work week is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

licensed technicians, digital radiology, paperless PIMS, ultrasonography, surgical specialist visits/surgeries, oncology specialist visits, anesthesia monitoring

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Monday-Friday

8am-5pm

Students can be as hands on as possible depending on the experience and comfort level of the student and our staff. Our goal is to create a fun, real life learning experience for our students. Students are able to workup a case from start to finish, including SOAP records, client communication, creating rule out list, diagnosis and treatment plan.
