Noah's Animal Hospitals, IN

Description of Elective Experience:

Noah's Animal Hospitals is a group of privately-held small-animal veterinary hospitals in the Greater Indianapolis area.  Within our hospitals, we offer General Practice, Emergency/Specialty and Low-Cost practice modatlities.  Students' experiences can be tailored to meet their interests, with time in each practice type or alternately concentrated in one hospital.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:

Our hospitals are well equipped including surgical suites, ICU's with oxygen cage, full in-house lab equipment, digital x-ray, ultrasound and CT capabilities as well as access to a Board-Certified Criticalist, Surgeon and Radiologist. We strive for a high technician-to-doctor ratio, and provide a unique training program for technicians, allowing them to provide treatments as our veterinarians focus on diagnoses and the treatment plan.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

Hours and days of the week will vary, depending on interest and hospital schedules.  Externs will shadow a veterinarian and will be involved in cases, with dialogue about differentials, necessary diagnostics, input on treatement plan, as well as providing support with the veterinarian to care.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):

We offer housing to visitng externs at no charge.  It is pet friendly.
