Our four doctor companion animal practice sees a wide variety of cases. The student will be involved in helping administer vaccines, perform physical exams and have involved conversations about treatment plans with the doctors. Our client base is diverse and the student will spend a lot of time interacting with the public. The student will have the opportunity to help during surgeries as well.
Our practice performs a wide variety of surgeries and the student will have the opportunity to assist with these. Our clinic provides laser therapy treatment as a specialty treatment. We offer multiple in house laboratory tests and the ability to send out specialty blood work and get next day results. We offer digital x-rays, in house blood transfusions, parasite control, microchipping, dentistry, geriatric medicine, nutrition counseling, behavior medications, house calls and many other services for our clients.
- Student will be responsible for charting medical records.
- Student will be responsible for calling owners for follow up calls and communicating medication instructions with owners.
- Student will participate in daily discussions about cases and be involved in formulating treatment plans with our doctors.
- Student will help develop diagnostic plans.
- Student will perform thorough physical exams.
- Student will be involved in diagnostic test interpretations.
- No student housing is provided but the student will receive free daycare for their pets if they so desire. Travel costs are paid for by the student.
