Description of Elective Experience:
We are a canine/feline general practice with 10 doctors. Students will have the opportunity to shadow our doctors in both exam room and surgical settings.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We have 10 doctors with around 50 support staff employees. We have full service pharnacy as well as a pet hotel within our hospital. We utilize electronic medical records and are equipped with digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, and ultrasound. We perform soft tissue and some orthopedic surgeries as well as dental procedures.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
The student will shadow our doctors and work the typical hours of a doctor's week (40-50). They will both observe and have hands-on experience with our patients.
