Description of Elective Experience:
The student will ride on farm calls that range from dairy production medicine to bovine surgery and equine medicine and surgery ranging from preventative care to lameness to dentistry to reproduction.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Digital radiology, licensed RVT ride along, upper airway endoscopy, milking parlor evaluation equipment, bovine and equine library.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
They will be expected to provide support at the level of their competence and confidence. The student will shadow 5 days per week typically ranging from 50-65 hours.
