Three days of the week, the student will be observing and assisting the mobile ultrasound service, for a total of approximately 24 hours per week. This will include discussing cases (with radiologist and referring veterinarian), helping to prepare patients, and performing abdominal ultrasounds. Two days of the week, the student will be engaged in assigned readings and case reviews.
Dr Habing, GE mobile ultrasound unit, ultrasound texts and cases provided by Dr. Habing.
Responsibilities:
1- Patient preparation: shaving and cleaning
2- Pre-scan: when possible perform initial ultrasound scan and collect images
3- Record keeing: take notes for preliminary ultrasound report
4- Read assigned material and be prepared to discuss predetermined topics and cases for the folloowing day
