Description of Elective Experience:
We are an equine surgical referral hospital with one ACVS boarded large animal surgeon (Dr Tracey) and one GP that focuses on reproduction, dentistry and lameness (Dr Bottger). We expect our externs to participate in day to day activities, treatments, and emergencies.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We gave two Doctors, three full time technicians and one part time technician and one full time receptionist. They will have access to recent journals and numerous text books.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Students are expected to be respectful and participate in day to day activities including after hours emergencies.
