Peregrine Radiology, ME

Description of Elective Experience: 

Hands on radiology and US image interpretation. We have 2 dedicated US machines for hands on ultrasound learning in both abdomen and echocardiography. Rounds include imaging and ECG rounds (Led by an ACVECC specialist). sTudents reach a level of intermediate abbdomen and intermediate echocardiography. intermediate echocardiography includes the left sided views, Doppler sonography and m-mode.

2 dedicated US machines with full abdomen, smal parts and echocardiography capability

4 teaching dogs for hands on training

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

5/days a week

rounds begin at 9AM with poweer point presentations or teaching cases

there is then a second set of rounds covering the US topic of the day

after luch the students begin hands on training in US for 2-3 hours

The students are expected to attend clinics in Portland at a specialty practice on saturdays to see US cases. They are compensated for this work day with a week day off of their choosing

no cost

we have room for 4 students per rotation. this is in a separate heated buiding with their own private bathroom. they have their own small refrigerator and access to a lager kitchen.

students are expected to providee their own vehicle, as the teaching location does not have public transportation, Uber or LIft access

Dinners (evening meals) are provided by the location, the students are expected to make their own breakfast and lunch meals
