Description of Elective Experience: 

We are a small 3 doctor mixed animal practice located in rural Wyoming. Our office in Kaycee is mixed animal, predominatly large animal. Our Sheridan office is strictly Equine. Depending on the time of year the case load will vary with fall being primarally preg checking, and bangs vaccinating; spring is calving (dystocia/c-sections), foaling and equine repro oriented. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

1 full time veterinarian; 1 part time veterinarian in Kaycee office, with 3 part time technicians. Digital radiograph capabilities, ultrasound, in house blood work, 2 hydrolic silencer chutes. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Office hours are from 8-5 Monday through Friday. During the fall we also work weekends so the student would be welcome to work the weekend as well if there are appointments. We also offer oncall services. Students would be expected to observe/assist with procedures, interact with clients, assisit with procedure set up and clean up. During the fall if they feel comforatable some hands on ultrasounding experiance can be gained.

Basement appartment underneath clinic, with kitchen, bathroom. No cost.
