Description of Elective Experience: 

Assisting with small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry as well as large animal medicine, surgery and farm calls.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Two full time doctors and great supportive staff. We have numerous in house diagnostics including: full blood analysis, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy and electrosurgery. Brand new state of the art facility also includes equine surgery stall and hydraulic tilt cattle chute.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students are expected to shadow and interact with the doctors during normal business hours. After hours calls are minimal, but participation in these would be expected if student is available.  Depending on their comfort level, individual case workup, client interaction and surgeries can be assigned.  The student will not be asked to do things they are not comfortable with.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info): 

Two housing options are available: in clinic (bed in shared space during business hours, shower, partial kitchen or spare bedrooms at owners home (seperate in basement).
