Serendipity Clinic Inc (at Midwest Animal Clinic), OH

Description of Elective Experience:

Country community clinic that provides reasonable priced general practice care, with an emphasis on spay, neuter, dentals and vaccines. Practice routinely performs 10-20 surgeries daily and more on surgery saturdays, works with local resuces, dog warden and TNR programs. Surgeries are not limited to routine, and often include life saving surgeries on a budget. Doctor uses osteopathic medicine to view whole patient when considering diagnosis and some alternative medicine therapies. Clinic has casual atmosphere especially when handling animals - focus on energy of patients, minimal restraint with more distraction techniques unless necessary. Scheduling tends to be quite busy and fast paced. Excellent experience for any student looking for a small general practice experience with a full variety of patients and clients with diagnoses treatment often being based on medical knowledge, physical exam, deductive reasoning and financial constraints versus unlimited testing and funds.
