Description of Elective Experience: 

A locally owned small animal, multi doctor/multi office practice that has been in business since 1967.  Opportunities with us include a diverse case-load from routine care to advance medicine and surgical cases.   We see dogs, cats, and if interested, a variety of exotic companion animals.  Direct guidance of licensed veterinarians with a combined total of over 100 years experience ranging from new graduates to well established individuals. Our team includes a board certified general practicioner.  The experience will include collecting and evaluating samples, creating treatment plans, assist in soft tissue, orthopedic and dental procedures.  Opportunities are taylored to individual's desires.  We value teamwork, lifelong learning, communication, sense of humor and compassion for both our patients and eachother.  

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

With a proper doctor/staff ratio, our long standing support staff and RVT's are available to assist the doctors in all aspects of the exam.  We have digital records, digital X-ray and ultrasound, surgical and dental suites, rigid endoscopy, in-house lab equipment, and anesthetic monitoring.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students will be expected to work a schedule that includes varied days and hours.  They will be paired primarily with a DVM mentor and encouraged to participate in exams and procedures as well as blood draws and obtaining samples to send out for diagnostics.  Proper dress is required and adhearance to our professional dress-code is crucial for a professional atmosphere.
