We are a multi-doctor and (soon to be) AAHA accredited small animal and exotics practice located in El Paso, Texas. Our goal is to practice excellent medicine and provide learning opportunities through the use of up to date technology, practicing current standards of care, and having very well training and knowledgeable team members. Dr. Dashley will also provide one to two cadaver wet labs throughout the rotation to help students practice common techniques, such as e-tube placement, enucleations, tail amputations, dental extractions, etc.
We have a high tech to doctor ratio which help our doctors maximize efficiency and have time to discuss cases with students. Technicians are also able to assist and teach students technical skills, such as venopuncture and catheter placement. Our surgical and dental suites are equipped with patient warming systems, and comprehensive monitoring (including EtCO2). Diagnostic resources include in house blood machines, digital cytology, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ECG, ultrasound and echo capability. Therapy laser, surgical laser, and radiocautery are also available. We plan to add a CT unit in 2023.
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8a-5:30p and Saturday 8a-12p. Students generally spend a minimum of 40 hours per week on rotation depending on school requirements. Students may choose to spend additional time at the hospital if they wish (e.g coming in Saturday morning, helping with after hours emergency surgeries, etc). Lunch breaks are encouraged.
If needed, we provide a room at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott (cost covered, free breakfast, pet friendly, full kitchen, fitness center).
