Description of Elective Experience:
Opportunity to participate in various research projects, including fish health, aquatic invasive species, and public engagement. Weather-dependent opportunities to visit field sites/hatcheries. Networking with professors, post docs, and graduate students.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
University of Minnesota - Phelps Lab: 1 professor, 2 post docs, 7 graduate students. Bench and wet labs are available. Office space will be available.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Student will be expected to meet with mentor each day to set goals and and answer questions, and attend other meetings/activities as needed. Should be available during normal working hours (8:00am-5:00pm M-F).
