U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, OH

Description of Elective Experience: 

The student will experience veterinary public health as it is practiced in the U.S. Air Force. This will include shadowing of the entomology program, hearing conservation program, food security program, and public health surveillance program at the Epidemiology Consult Service Division, U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. Time-permitting, the student may also have the opportunity to shadow a base public health officer at the Wright-Patterson Medical Center.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

The student will have access to a cubicle with computer. The student may also use the medical library, as needed.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

The rotation hours are approximately 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, except federal holidays.
