Description of Elective Experience:
The student will experience our hospital flow, surgery, laboratory functions, preventative medicine, room appointments, technician and assistant duties as they support DVMs and some emergencies.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
VCA offers a multitude of onboarding and continuing training modules. We also have strong support within the hospital and with field leadership.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
We will schedule the student between 36-40 hours per week. This schedule may include some evening hours. As the student becomes acclimated to our hospital and team, we will transition from shadowing to support for our DVMs.
