Description of Elective Experience:
Student will be assigned to one of the current rotating interns to facilitate logistics, time spent in the hospital, and to discuss the clinical cases throughout each day. There is a lot of flexibility in terms of what services the extern is allowed to shadow and externs frequently jump from service to service throughout the week to meet as many different people as possible.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Students are expected to be in the clinic Monday-Friday at 8:00 a.m. every day and stay until 6:00 p.m. transfer rounds. Students are invited to attend didactic teaching rounds held weekly for the interns, but this is not required. Most of the experience is in a shadowing setting.
