We are offering a two week externship to a fourth year veterinary student. The student will gain knowledge of the interworkings of a busy general practice. Given the new Covid Pandemic and Parking Lot Policies, the veterinary experience and client interaction is very different. The student will be able to experience that first hand.
The Veterinary Care Center has 11 staff doctors, 12 RVT's as well as a very seasoned support staff. Facilities include two fully equipped surgery suites, with a Surgical Laser, Cold Laser Therapy, Ultrasound, Digital Radiology with Telemedicine Consultation, Digital Dental Radiology, and Endoscopy. Unfortunately we just loss our Internist, but we hope to be replacing that specialty soon.
The student will be allowed to shadow several veterinarians as well as the technician staff, and should expect to be hands on with their patients. We expect a 40 hour work week, for two full weeks.
