Description of Elective Experience:
The extern will shadow the DVMs and learn in exam rooms, assist in surgery and dentsitsy and lean basic skills.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We have a boarded dentist, a residency completed dentist and 1-2 residents. We are a fully equipped veterinary dental referral hospital
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Monday-Friday 8-6
This is mostly shadowing and support support. Depending on the length of the externship perfoming cleanings, oral exams, dental radiology, and basic oral therapies.
