Description of Elective Experience: 

Small animal dermatology specialty practice that sees 15-20 cases per day

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

We are a private practice with three board certified dermatologists.  Specialty procedures include skin allergy testing, video otoscopy, anesthetic deep ear cleaning, mass/ear mass removal, diode/CO2 laser.  Student will have access to our derm library as well as access to all other specialists at our neighboring hospital.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Student will be welcome to come to the office during our normal business hours of Monday through Thursday, 9am-5pm, and Friday, 9am-4:30pm, with an hour lunch each day.  We would like to have her shadow, assist with procedures like collecting cytology and skin scraping, propose/discuss differential diagnoses, and if she is comfortable, she can try to skin test as well more advanced procedsures such as biopsy.
