Description of Elective Experience:
VEG’s Externship Program gives students hands-on experience in emergency medicine while working right alongside our expert emergency doctors. Students will focus on learning how to effectively communicate with clients, diagnose a variety of emergent conditions, develop emergency treatment plans and collaborate with support staff in a fast-paced environment. Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Your role as an Extern:
- Shadow and observe our ER doctors
- Help out doctors and staff
- Scrub into surgery
- Assist with medical records
- Communicate with clients
