Description of Elective Experience: 

Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center is a 24/7/365 veterinary referral and emergency facility that is proud to offer a host of distinctive and comprehensive veterinary services to northeastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. Our hospital is the only one of its kind in Lackawanna county and one of the most inclusive veterinary facilities in the region. We have dedicated Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Cardiology departments and are looking to expand our offerings in the near future.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Our facility is equipped with in-house labs, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, mechanical ventilator and complete nuclear medicine capabilities. In addition, we have our own MRI on-premises, available 24 hours a day. Since opening our doors in May 2010, our staff has grown to over 50 veterinary clinicians, technicians, support staff, and client service representatives in order to best meet the needs of our patients, clients, and referring veterinarians.
