Description of Elective Experience: 

Experiential training with specialist wildlife veterinarian base in Kruger National Park, South Africa

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Fully equiped facilities including laboratories, trained personnel, animal holding facilities, and field vehicles and equipment to provide veterinary support for free-ranging wildlife conservation management 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Shadow veterinarian and veterinary support staff in daily duties - where possible and appropriate the student will be supervised in implementing veterinary procedures.

Normal working hours - 7am to 4pm weekdays, student may be requested to assist with afterhours work and emergencies.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info): 

R120.00 / per day / per person. Self-catering - all amenities provided. Communal bathrooms and eating area. Separate bedroom. Not pet friendly. Student to provide own towel
