Village Gate Animal Hospital & Pet Resort, OH

Description of Elective Experience:

The student will be mentored in small animal (90%) and pocket pet (10%) care.  Our practice is AAHA accredited and progressive.   We see a large case volume of internal medicine, dermatology, endocrinology, surgical and dental cases, as well as orthopedics, behavior and nutrition.   As case load permits, the student will perform as primary surgeon, or assistant surgeon on surgical cases.  The student will perform dental prophylaxis, dental xrays and dental extractions under the supervision of a veterinarian.   We place a stong emphasis on wellness care and will stress the importance of regular care and protocols for specific breeds and ages.
