Walking Paws Rehab, CO

Warning message

The Colorado Workers' Compensation Act requires student interns to be covered by workers' compensation insurance. Ohio State is not able to add students to its institutional workers' compensation policy. Prior to scheduling an externship in Colorado, students must work with their externship supervisor to ensure that Colorado worker's compensation insurance requirements will be met. Proof of worker's compensation coverage must be sent to Dr. Emma Read for verification. If a student is not covered by a worker's compensation policy for their externship they will not earn academic credit for the rotation. Description of Elective Experience:

Students will get to participate in our patient's appointments alongside our doctors performing a variety of modalities such as laser, underwater treadmill, massage, manual exercise, shockwave, ultrasound, acupuncture, and more. Each appointment is different and you may or may not get to see other things such as orthopedic castings and adjustments, radiographs, and various in-house diagnostics.

We do have versatile cases; neuro, orthopedic, and soft tissue injuries

Because each appointment is different we cannot guarantee students will get to see everything but we will do our best to provide students diverse cases during their visit.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

We work 10 hour days with 1 hour lunch in the middle. We are open 7 days a week so it's dependent on how long the internship lasts for and what days work for each student. We like to see students providing actual support but we understand if the preference to shadow the first day or two to get an understanding of how our days run.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):

We do not provide housing. Any accommodations for pets/amenities/cost would be dependent on where you stay while working with us.
