Description of Elective Experience:
Will be working with a veterinarian with 40 plus years experience. Students will be allowed to do office calls and surgeries with his oversight. We have a one doctor practice doing 6-8 surgeries and 15 plus office calls daily. We do soft tissue and most orthopedic surgeries.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We have digital new X-Ray, new Lab equipment, new tonopen, new EKG, new Avimark software. All of this has been added in the last 2 years.
We have a staff of 5 people. 4 of the staff have a composite 70 years experience in the field of veterinary medicine. 2 are taking vet tech course on line with Penn Foster.
We have a library of veterinary books and we update or add 2 new books yearly
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
8AM til 5 PM weekdays and 8AM-12 PM every other Saturday
