Description of Elective Experience: 

Wayne Veterinary Hospital is a 5 doctor mixed animal practice with a satellite location. Our clientele includes predominantly small animals, some exotics and large animals. We provide many services including but not  limited to: wellness exams, farm calls, surgery, radiology equipment, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultra sound, Doppler, in house labs, surgical and therapy lasers, laproscopy, endoscopy, boarding, etc. Board certified surgeon is available with advanced telemedicine capabilities. After hour emergencies are handled by a separate Emergency Clinic.

Educational Resources Available: Journals, books, computer databases, rounds, continuing education activities as scheduling permits.

Responsibilities Expected of Participating Students: Office visits, surgery, care of hospital patients, work with all doctors in providing patient care.

Equipment Resources Available: Ultrasound, Endoscopy, and Digital X-Rays among others.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Drs. Work:

Monday-Friday 8am-6pm (10 hours/day)

Saturday - 8am-12pm (4 hours)

Sunday - 8am-9am (30 min)

On call suite with den, bedroom, private bath w/shower, high speed internet
