Description of Elective Experience:
We are a 3.5 doctor practice that treats companion animals.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
There are 4 RVTs, 5 assistances, 3CSR. Our office offers digital radiology, ultrasound, in-house diagnostic, outside laboratory, surgery, vaccine, dentistry, some orthopedic surgery, in-house pharmacy, laser surgery, and some endoscopy. We work by appointment and some emergencies for clients only.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Sarah will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each day will be 10 hour days. She will shadow different doctors each day. Based on each doctors comfort level will have the opportunity for some hands on with patients, interacting with clients, and working through cases all under direct supervision of a veterinarian.
