Well Pets Veterinary Clinic and After Hours Urgent Care, SC

Description of Elective Experience:

We are a small animal general medicine and urgent care practice.  The student will experience a variety of things including preventative care, complex medicine cases, surgery, and emergency/urgent care.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:

We moved into our 13,000 square foot facility in the fall of 2022.  We have a large, well trained support staff that allows our doctors to focus on medicine.  We have a full range of equipment including digital radiographs, dental radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy (coming fall 2023), therapeutic laser, oxygen cages, and more.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

The student will be scheduled for roughly 40 hours per week with opportunity for more if the student desires.  As a practice that is open seven days per week until 10PM, they will be given a schedule that allows them to see all sides of the practice.  However, we can tailor the schedule to the students needs.  They will spend the entire time shadowing an experienced DVM.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):
